Artist: Gary Benson
Categories: Pop, Ballad, M O R
Biography: MOR Balladeer, with occasional shades of heavy blues
Starting out in the early sixties touring regularly, Gary Benson went on to work as a session vocalist before recording for State Records and heading back out on the road with his own band.
Gary had two songs selected for the Eurovision Song Contest, the first performed by Olivia Newton John ("Someday") and the next by The Shadows("Don't Throw It All Away"). Such was the impact of "Don't Throw It All Away" that
a number of cover versions battled with Gary's own recording for poll position in the American charts. "Let Her In" was a substantial success for John Travolta.
