Biography: Top class orchestral arrangements of popular standards and modern classics
David Rose was responsible for two numbers that will live forever: “Holiday For Strings” and “The Stripper”. A contemporary of Henry Mancini, Rose started out as an arranger for NBC Radio in Chicago, moving to Hollywood in 1928. After the war he joined MGM and worked for the studio in tv, film and recordings. He backed numerous singers and released albums as an artist in his own right. Rose won a total of 4 Emmys during the course of his career. He continued to work in television late in life, serving as musical director for the series "Little House on the Prairie" in the early 1980s before his death in 1990.
